A Play in a Day - A Production Smash Course

Are you teaching a Theatre I course to students who have never been to the theatre? Are you trying to excite your advanced actors about the play you selected for competition? This Production Smash Course will give you the tools you need to engage new students and energize seasoned ones. Virtually Hang out with Maria McConville, Education Director at Stage Partners, while she offers a fast-paced, in-your-face workshop on getting your thespians on board, on their feet, and engaged. We will work with a new play and create an entire production all in one session. Modifications will be offered for in-person learning and virtual learning.

    Maria McConville

    Maria McConville is an actor, teaching artist, and playwright. A resident of Connecticut, USA, she has performed with Thrown Stone, taught with Open Arts Alliance and developed theatre programming at the Darien Arts Center. Maria is currently the Education Director for Stage Partners. Growing up in NYC, Maria attended LaGuardia HS of Performing Arts and graduated from Fordham University with a degree in performance. In NYC, Maria was a teaching artist with TFANA, TDF, and Leap. As a playwright, she is published with Playscripts and Stage Partners. As an actor, Maria was featured in the indie films GAYBY, MEMORIAL DAY and in the web-series, SUBMISSIONS ONLY. In New York, Maria has performed with/at NYTW, EST, CSC, Woodshed Collective, SoHo Rep, HERE Arts Center, undergroundzerofestival, The Kirk @Theater Row, BAX, Shakespeare in the Park-ing Lot, NY Fringe Festival to name a few. Her biggest role is Mom to her two young daughters.
