The Thespy's - What are they & How to Prep your students for success

Thespy's are the new program for drama students that is rapidly expanding across Canada. A program to showcase excellence in areas of Acting & Musical Theatre performance and Tech/Design. It links to regional, provincial, national and international levels through EdTA Canada & EdTA International. Instead of competing with others, students match up against a rubric and challenge themselves to reach the highest levels of theatrical excellence. With multiple adjudicators the feedback is rich and the growth potential for students in extrodinary. Come to this session and have Troupe Director Mark Rossiter share what categories are included and how to prep your students for success in this dynamic new program for the educational theatre community in Canada.

    Mark Rossiter

    Mark Rossiter is currently in his 9th year teaching in the Surrey School District.  He is the Arts Department Head for Fleetwood Park Secondary, and the Theater Company Director for the Dragon Tales Theater Company - Thespian Troupe #8999. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Simon Fraser University. Mark is on the board of the BC Thespians and Coordinates the Thespy's program in British Columbia.
